Graphic Design and Digital Tools: Grid Project
This project implements the way I was able to redesign the Wikipedia page entry for the word "Arcology." In redesigning the information, I was able to structure it to fit the format of a magazine and also employ a grid system using Adobe InDesign.
Since arcology combines notions of architecture and ecology, for this assignment, I decided to format the Wikipedia information like a architecture magazine. As for the color scheme of the magazine, the concept of arcology also reminds me of futuristic vibe, which to me is also employed in the color blue. Therefore, my magazine layout features different shades of the color blue to create the futuristic vibe I got from my Wikipedia subject.
In addition, I felt that adding the different shades of blue within the magazine as different text backgrounds also allowed more attention to be drawn to the information displayed on the page. To create that futuristic vibe I got from my Wikipedia concept, I also decided that each spread would incorporate a level of simplicity that would make it easy for anyone to read and navigate through.
